Generating Traffic There are a few little known ways to get traffic to the links you promote. Everyone has heard of traffic exchanges and I have listed some reviews of their performance below. But let's look at a couple other ways to bring people to your links or your site. The most effective way is posting on Forums. It's also one of the most time consuming. 1.) Sign up for a forum. 2.) Read and post related opinions/answers to questions. 3.) Gain some credibility on the forum. 4.) Change your signature to include you links. 5.) Once established as a non spammer, you can post links. This is tedious but when you get to know people, they are more likely to sign up for whatever you are recommending. Again, MLM's are the hardest because everyone has failed at them in the past. Let's face it, they have a scam reputation. Even the good ones (meaning the ones that actually pay) are hard to succeed with. I cannot recommend any forums to join and I don't know of any that pay referral money for getting people on board. You can find them by searching the net. Try, something related to what you are promoting. When searching use quotation marks for pairs of words. The words "how to" in a search usually bring up forums. When reading the results, don't read the results in blue. Look at the green line which shows the address of that result. In the address there will be the word "forum". Now you have it. Example: "how to" ecology forum Result: network.nature.com/forums/evolution-ecology/319 Another very effective form of promotion is similar. Social networks, which are free but have drawbacks as well. Most of the super networks are very spam-anal about links and banners. Again, you have to know people before they will listen. Lesser known networks let you put banners and links on your profile and won't mess with you too much. You may have seen the banners on this site for Yuwie. This site is covered in my reviews section. I am generating a regular (but small) monthly income from Yuwie, and I have also run ads through adEngage and done quite well with them. Because banners are against the terms of service, I no longer run any on my main profile, but rather in my blog section. Being banned in the beginning would be no great loss. But now, with over 1200 referrals generating income for me, I have decreased the risk. Some you may try are BigCrumbs, MyViewin, Yuwie, and others (found on traffic exchanges). A link in the signature portion of your email (works with Live, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook) works well to bring people to your promotions links. This is passive and appears on the bottom of every email you send or respond to. The drawback is that many of your emails may be filtered out as spam. Traffic Exchanges. Most of them bring traffic to your site, but according to my statistics, only some actually ensure your site is seen. Many are "Auto-Surf" sites. This means that a member clicks the surf button and walks away. Your hit counter will register the hits, but this is not useful if you are looking for people to join (conversions). There are some "Manual-Surf" sites and your link will be seen, though sometimes for only 15 or 20 seconds. The downside is that you have to manually click others' sites to gain free credits. Credits can be purchased, but is only recommended for sites that actually produce conversions. Check back for my review of traffic exchanges. . . | |||||
